Center for Educational Improvement/CEI
…identifies, researches, shares, and applies compassionate school mental health practices. The goal of the organization is to accelerate the adoption and implementation of evidence-based practices that address the holistic needs of students and staff. CEI guides educators as they create a culture and context for students to become enthusiastic lifelong learners. CEI also offers practical solutions that help elementary and secondary teachers, principals, school psychologists, and other school staff reduce stress and symptoms of burnout, anxiety, and depression, including the vicarious trauma that affects many educators and school staff.
My Vision
Vision of the World
CEI envisions a world that leans in with heart and compassion for self, others, and our environment, where people and institutions are dedicated to expanding conscious acts of caring, building resiliency, and advancing equity and justice.
Vision for Education
CEI envisions education that serves as the foundation for our humanity; it is flexible and empowering, where there is room for adventure, students drive their own learning, learning is celebrated, and communities support their individual and collective self-care, resiliency, and well-being.
Vision for CEI
The Center for Educational Improvement (CEI) is an intentional collaborative of educators and researchers actively engaging to create a transformational system of education focused on collective healing and holistic learning. We identify, curate, develop, and scale up sustainable practices, such as Heart Centered Learning and Leadership and student-led reform, that nurture family and community connectedness, well-being, equity, and justice.
Visions developed with the Center for Educational Improvement team, November 2020.
