Podcasts & Workshops
I am co-hosting the podcast Trauma in Schools with Jeff Ikler & Jesse Kohler. Listen to our interviews with school administrators, neuroscience researchers, teachers, students, and mental health providers for advice about how to improve the mental health and well-being of students and school staff.
In my highly interactive workshops, participants learn about the relationship of neuroscience and trauma to academic achievement and children’s mental health and well-being. Participants dialogue and plan with others as they brainstorm ideas and apply the principles for student-centered instruction. Most importantly, by trying many of these activities themselves, participants leave my workshops with invaluable insights on what they can do at their own local schools and/or districts.
“The Center for Educational Improvement has developed professional offerings that model best practices in social-emotional learning. The center’s bottom line focuses on support of the whole child while strategically designing tools that will support differentiated levels of success. Under the leadership of Dr. Christine Mason, the center executes solid, realistic recommendations. I am always impressed by the genuine, engaging and productive heart centered work which flows from this network.”
